In July 2026, entrusted by Southeast University, the School of Civil Engineering actively advanced the research on university-industry cooperation for the establishment of an English-medium international campus in Indonesia. A 10-member delegation led by Mr. Zheng Jiamao, former Deputy Party Secretary of Southeast University, conducted field research in Indonesia, with relevant faculty members and representatives from the School of Civil Engineering accompanying the visit.
On July 15, the delegation visited ZTE Indonesia and Sinoma International Indonesia, engaging in in-depth discussions on topics including the structure of Indonesia’s engineering talent market, skill gaps among local graduates, the recognition and salary premium of internationally-educated degree holders, and the adoption of digital tools such as BIM and AI across industries. On July 16, the delegation continued its visits to alumni-affiliated enterprises-Kyoto International Group and East Hope Indonesia.
All the companies expressed strong enthusiasm for the establishment of Southeast University’s campus in Indonesia, and voiced their willingness to provide internship opportunities, corporate mentors, and real-world project scenarios, actively participating in university-industry collaborative education.
This on-site research has provided valuable first-hand data for the subsequent scientific design of academic disciplines and the optimisation of talent cultivation models. Looking ahead, the School of Civil Engineering will continue to follow up on the campus preparation and coordination, build a stable and long-term platform for collaborative education, and contribute to the university’s strategic goal of internationalisation.
